Two weekends from now the Kakaras family (me & wifey) are having a little fancy smanshy getaway to downtown Charlotte, NC. We have not been away together just the two of us since our honeymoon so in all honesty this may have been overdue.
It was my job to book the hotel and my search began to find a deal. Because my wifey is so great I really want to make it special and stay in a place that is a notch above the Holiday Inn Express (which I love that place by the way).
Anyway, I have heard people have these awesome coupons to “stay one night, get one night free” type coupons for hotels. I looked for them, didn’t know where to find them.
So I went to the next best thing (I think). www.hotwire.com This an excellent website for hotels. Here are the stipulations: You can pick which star rating you want (in my case I chose 4 stars) and you can pick the area that you are in (it shows a little map and the box of an area of the city where your hotel is located in).
And thats it. You can’t pick WHICH hotel you want. If you are not okay with this hotwire would not work for you.
For instance, for my honeymoon I did not want to do this because I wanted to pick EXACTLY the place that we were staying. However, with this trip I am not nearly as picky (it is usually about 40-50% discount so it might be worth it).
So, you pick that stuff and you book the hotel. Then after you pay they will reveal which hotel you got. After I saw which one we are staying in (no I will not reveal it) #1) I was ridiculously excited #2) I looked at the hotel and saw what I would normally have to pay and got a major discount.
Now, all we need to do is get Charlotte Bobcats tickets for free & a Ruth’s Chris coupon and we are set…
