Yes, I did work out this morning which is likely why I have titled this blog post appropriately. I wish I could say I really push myself to the limit when I work out but that is not the case. My instinct is to work hard but when it is approaching the limit to ease up.I do not know why this is my instinct. Honestly, I have gone to that limit and gotten sick because of it, however, once “the sickness” passes it is the greatest feeling.
One of my workout partners had “the sickness” today and when he came back he was ready to go through the whole workout again.I thought to myself, why don’t I push myself to the limit…sure it feels bad at the time but when it is all said and done you could not feel any better.
You may say, “there is no way this relates to money.” Wrong, it absolutely does. I meet people all the time that refuse to push themselves to the limit. Here’s what I mean.
If someone’s situation is “Income – Outgo = VERY tight” I will look at them and say, “you know that has to change.” Either get that extra job delivering pizzas at night or cut some of those expenses. Here is where pushing yourself to the limit might come into play.
What do we need? Housing – Food – Clothing – Transportation. That is it. Seriously. If the income does not meet these then we have a problem. (one that family/friends can and need to help with for the short term until income gets raised). However, the majority of people I meet with that is not the problem. We have cable/internet/movies/eating out/concerts/specialized hair products/etc. And people refuse to cut this stuff. They would rather live life stressed and pressured by their financial situation than go a couple months without HGTV.
However, push yourself to the limit. Cut the stuff you don’t need if you need to in your finncial life, seriously. I’m not saying you have to live that way the rest of your life. But free up some buffer, push yourself to this level. And here is the thing, there are people who really do this, and EVERYTIME they are so glad they did it.
Just like “the sickness,” it may feel uncomfortable to begin with, but when all is said and done you could not feel any better.
