I am a big gift giver. I love getting someone something awesome and then seeing them use it for years to come. For whatever reason that amps me up. As most of you know I am also a big deal finder. So when you combine those two together you get my strategy for holiday shopping.
The key is to think about what you want to get people for gifts in advance. This is key because if you wait til the week before something is going to go wrong.
I have 3 basic hot spots for gifts:
1.) I subscribe to about 10 different online deal finder blogs that I have feeding into my rss feeder. Then I just search for the product that I want and the majority of the time it will give me an online coupon that I would have never found on my own. (I will post those 10 online deal finders soon).
2.) Ebay it. This thing is amazing and I will usually get a significant discount on most anything I purchase.
3.) Using my brain. Check out Hustlers plan for getting 36% off on Eastbay gift cards. Basically he uses an Easbay coupon code with a paypal promotion and an ebates promotion to jump his discount from 20% off to 36% off. I love using this types of plans and coming out ahead.
